Description

This "Collector's Edition" of the works of Voltaire is very rare. On March 16, 2013 I conducted a WorldCat search for this edition and while there are hundreds of libraries that have the works of Voltaire, there was only 1 library that had this "Collector's Edition."

This set is the "Collector's Edition." There were only 660 copies of this edition printed and this is #15 of the 660. Full 42 Volumes. A Contemporary Version with notes by Tobias Smollett, revised and modernized new translation by William F. Fleming, and an Introduction by Oliver H.G. Leigh. A critique and biography by The Rt. Hon. John Morley. Two hundred designs comprising reproductions of rare old engravings, steel plates, photogravures and curious facsimilies.

These 10 volumes contain the "Philosophical Dictionary" of Voltaire and contain about 3000 pages.

There is a Barnes and Noble edition (2006) edited by John R. Iverson but it is only 438 pages long. In addition, he uses this 1901 edition as the source for his edition.
