Government Printing Office

Washington, DC

We are still researching this work; at this time there seems to be no library is the world that has a copy of this work.

Argued by the brilliant lawyer and orator Robert Green Ingersoll, this trial featured the longest defense in American history. After months of testimony, Ingersoll secured acquittals for his clients, who were accused of a conspiracy to defraud the U.S. in connection with the contracts for certain mail routes. It was the greatest political scandal of its day.

Some of the arguments Ingersoll employed in this trial were included in the 12 volume Works of Robert G. Ingersoll.

This 3 volume work contains the transcript of the entire trial and amounts to a total of 3341 pages, including the Index.
