This 3rd enlarged edition is quite rare as an October 25, 2012 WorldCat search could find only 11 libraries worldwide have a copy of this editioon of this work.

The author was the founder of "The Freethinker," and was convicted of blasphemy and sentenced to 12 months hard labour after the publication of 'irreligious' cartoons in the Christmas 1882 edition of the magazine.
